The implementation of the Robotic Surgery Program at Marian Regional Medical Center featuring the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System marks the beginning of a new era of excellence, enhanced technology, quality and superior service to patients and families of the Santa Maria Valley. The state-of-the-art da Vinci technology provides a newer, minimally-invasive approach for formerly more complex surgical procedures.

With the opening of the new hospital in March of 2012, Marian is committed to assuring that the latest technology is available for our patients and community. Marian’s physicians and staff recognize that the human touch is a powerful and irreplaceable part of healing, but also recognize that placing enhanced technology in the hands of expert surgeons is equally as important. Combining advanced technology with compassionate care ensures our community receives the highest level of care in a place close to home.
Patients like Robert Duff, who recently benefited from Marian’s Robotic Surgery Program, express gratitude regarding the clinical and practical benefits of robotic surgical technology. “Knowing that I would be exposed to less risk, that I could resume normal activities more quickly, and that I could return to work and care for my family within a matter of days made all the difference for me,” Robert shared about his recent surgery. “I’m self employed, and minimizing my down time was very important to me.”
Many friends of Marian have, through their generosity, begun the work to support the Robotics Surgery Program. Because this effort touches the lives of so many within our community, ongoing investment in the program is vital to ensure the continued availability of this superior technology.
