One of our favorite days of the year is right around the corner! Mark your calendar for the 10th annual Day of Hope—Wednesday, August 23, 2023. From 7 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., hundreds of local supporters will line the sidewalks of Santa Maria, Orcutt, and Nipomo, selling special edition Day of Hope Santa Maria Times newspapers in support of cancer patients in our community.

The Legion of Marian awards 2023 funding to the OB/GYN Residency Program Clinic

Legion of Marian - Annual Celebration 2023The Legion of Marian giving society recently held its Annual Celebration at Presqu’ile Winery, where the OB/GYN Residency Program Clinic was announced as this year’s winning beneficiary program.

The OB/GYN Residency Program Clinic will receive more than $52,000 in funding.

Grant helps cancer patient transportation program keep rolling

Check Presentation with Bank of the SierraThe Marian Foundation extends heartfelt gratitude to Bank of the Sierra for their $5,000 grant award in support of Mission Hope Cancer Center’s patient transportation assistance program. You may have noticed our cancer center’s patient transport vehicles driving around town, making sure patients who don’t have a ride can make it to and from their cancer treatments.



Surgical Services: Honoring Leta’s legacy

MRMC Surgical Services employeesMarian’s Surgical Services team recently gathered for a meaningful plaque unveiling ceremony to honor the life and legacy of late Marian employee Leta Soriano, RN. At the event, Leta’s twin sister, Lena, unveiled the Sub Sterile Room’s memorial plaque, which was named in loving memory of Leta. Leta’s memorial plaque will now serve as a daily tribute to celebrate Leta’s many contributions to Marian’s Surgical Services Department and the community.



Santa Maria Country Club Women’s Division tournament benefits local cancer patients

Santa Maria Country Club Women's check presentationThe Santa Maria Country Club Women’s Division hosted its annual golf, pickleball, and tennis tournament fundraiser in May, raising $12,825 in support of local cancer patients in need at Mission Hope Cancer Center. Our organization is grateful to the Santa Maria Country Club Women’s Division for their community leadership and generosity!
