Hardy Diagnostics supports advanced laboratory equipment

Local medical device manufacturer Hardy Diagnostics recently made a significant $289,000 donation to the Marian Regional Medical Center Foundation to support the purchase of advanced laboratory equipment. Thanks to the company’s generosity, how microbiology is conducted on the Central Coast will be transformed, ultimately providing better healthcare for our community.

“Hardy Diagnostics has maintained a positive relationship with Marian Regional Medical Center since the company’s inception in 1980. Turning grief into healing - Nurse raises funds for a Cuddle Cot to support parents after the loss of a newborn

Cuddle Cot | Agnitch FamilyAt 14 weeks of pregnancy, Ashley Agnitch was given the devastating news that her daughter had a genetic abnormality and was not expected to survive pregnancy or delivery. Against all odds, baby Greta Lynn was born on April 12, 2017, and graced her family with five beautiful hours of life.

In such situations, bereaved families may be separated from their infant in an amount of time that often feels too short. The baby is taken to the morgue to slow the natural process that occurs after death. After her own experience, Ashley researched possibilities to extend a family’s time together, hoping to allow other families to say goodbye at their own pace.

Sue Andersen | Most Influential People in the Region

Sue Andersen - 50 Most Influential People in the RegionRecently, Sue Andersen was named one of the 50 most influential people in the region by the Pacific Coast Business Times.

"Andersen oversaw the COVID-19 preparation efforts for both Marian Regional Medical Center and Arroyo Grande Community Hospital, as well as leading community testing and vaccination efforts for Northern Santa Barbara County. Marian was able to continue providing services to the community while handling the pandemic and providing care to COVID patients in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties. At times the hospital was seeing so many patients that the original hospital building had to be transformed back to a functioning hospital so the incoming patients could be cared for."
