Giving Back to the Community: One Day of Hope Sponsor’s Story

Angelica Limon and Santa Maria Nissan and Mazda

When Angelica Limon, controller of Santa Maria Nissan-Mazda, received a flyer in the mail about the fourth annual Day of Hope, she knew that she needed to become involved in this community event. Fortunately, Santa Maria Nissan and Mazda have a track record of supporting the local community throughout the Santa Maria Valley, and Day of Hope was a natural fit for the company’s sponsorship.

Almost every family has had an encounter with cancer, and as a daughter of a cancer patient, Angelica appreciates how the cancer care team has helped her family. Her father is currently undergoing treatment at Mission Hope Cancer Center, which means she sees firsthand the high quality services and compassionate care provided within the walls of Mission Hope Cancer Center. As the controller for Santa Maria Nissan and Mazda, Angelica is well aware of the need for local businesses to engage and support the community.

What impressed her most was how engaged the Day of Hope teams were with nearly every driver. “Day of Hope is a fun and exciting fundraiser,” Angelica said. “Everyone is in a good and cheerful mood. They’re cheerful no matter what, whether the donation is $1.00 or $100.”

All Day of Hope donations benefit patients like Angelica’s dad. For Angelica, she championed this donation with a firm belief that God gives to us so that we can give back. With community champions like Angelica, both current and future patients will be blessed through her continued advocacy and partnership.
