Day of Hope: Record Setting Outcome!

Did you hear the record breaking total set during Day of Hope? Dollars continued to be donated and the total after May 1 was $232,018!
On April 30, Mission Hope Cancer Center transformed itself into a party atmosphere as the many teams, sponsors, volunteers, and event partners were honored. The top three teams were also celebrated during this special evening soirée.
The incredibly competitive Rancho Harvest and the Marian Home Health and Convent teams raised over $6,000, earning a tie for the top spot. Maggie Daane's Dream Team earned second place with $5,488, and Michelle Shipman's Old Orcutt Team earned third place with $3,598 raised.
Three other groups were also honored at this evening event. Catreina Lyon's Team Betty, named in memory of her late mother, won Rookie of the Year award for raising nearly $3,000 in their inaugural year. Becky Taylor's Cancer Buckers were awarded the Spirit Award for the best dressed team. Lidos Food Truck and Daniel Urquhart was awarded the Carol J. Reiner Award for giving back to the community (read more of this story below).

You may have seen him at a local fair or food truck rally. If you haven't tried a Lidos' cheesesteak, then you are missing out on one of Santa Maria's food gems! There is more to owner Daniel Urquhart than a great meal though, he's a man of generosity and kindness, as displayed during Day of Hope.

Cruzin’ for Life’s annual Valentine’s Day Crab Feed brought in more than $25,000 for Marian Cancer Care patients at Mission Hope Cancer Center. This gift has helped raise significant funding for the operation of the center’s Patient Transportation Service.

Join The Legion of Marian in the first event highlighting a beneficiary program! This women's giving society will offer members the chance to combine annual donation membership dues to invest in a beneficiary program. The possible benefiting programs this year are Marian Cancer Care at Mission Hope Cancer Center, Behavioral Health Services, and the Surgical Services Expansion.
