A message from Sue Andersen,
President and CEO

As we move forward in the new year, I would like to take an important pause to reflect on the unexpected challenges faced last year. Marian Regional Medical Center continues to show our community the value of our great team who has shown care and compassion to over 1,500 COVID-19 inpatients, along with thousands of others. Our community has shown their support to all health care workers by providing meals, masks, flowers, letters of support, and generous donations.

We have learned the value of teamwork and recognized the difference each person can make. I could not be more proud of the amazing care provided for our family, friends and neighbors. Looking onward, we can be optimistic about the thousands of vaccines distributed recently. We can be confident that we can achieve anything when we come together. And, most of all, we can be optimistic about the year ahead and the return to that wonderful life called “normal.”

Wishing you a happy and safe year.

Sincerely,

Sue Andersen

Delivering joy
Local McDonald's franchises make significant donations

Dan and Pamela Macal, owners of several local McDonald’s franchises, and their daughter Isabella have been donating and delivering food for the Marian Regional Medical Center staff every Tuesday and Wednesday since April 2020. When the first cases of COVID-19 reached the Central Coast, the Macal family wanted to find a way to help.

“When the pandemic first started, my wife and I knew that the hospital would be overworked," shares Dan. "We wanted the staff to know that there are people in the community that were thinking of them and grateful for what they do.”

The Macals plan to continue making their deliveries as the pandemic persists. The hospital staff looks forward to the meals each week, and is immensely grateful for the Macals’ generosity.

Woods Family Foundation awards $25,000 grant for Emergency Food Pantry
